The Catholicism Faith Formation Programme brings the beauty, goodness and truth of the Church to life so that we can better understand and share our faith

Following the programme, devised by Bishop Robert Barron, we will learn what, as Catholics, we believe and why while being immersed in the art, architecture, literature, beliefs and practices of the Catholic tradition.

A 10-part documentary and formation programme about the Catholic Faith. The topics covered over the ten-week period are:

  1. The Revelation of God Become Man

  2. The Teaching of Jesus

  3. The Mystery of God

  4. Mary, Mother of God

  5. Peter, Paul and the Missionary Adventure

  6. The Mystical Union of Christ & the Church

  7. The Mystery of the Liturgy & the Eucharist

  8. The Communion of the Saints

  9. Prayer & the Life of the Spirit

  10. The Last Things.

The Catholicism Faith Formation Programme continues this Thursday evening at 7pm. Tea and Coffee will be available and you are invited to attend as many of the sessions as you can.  This is what you can expect on the fourth evening.

Week 4 - Our Tainted Nature's Solitary Boast: Mary, The Mother of God

In this episode, Bishop Barron masterfully correlates the Catholic Faith’s testimony to the revelation of God in Christ with the vivid practices of reverence offered to his Mother. Mary is explained as “an on-going presence, an actor in the life of the Church.” Bishop Barron journeys to the humble remains of Mary’s house in Nazareth, to the ruins of the ancient city of Ephesus and to the great Marian shrines of Lourdes and Guadalupe to explain the Church’s teachings about Mary as the Mother of God, the Immaculate Conception and the dogma of the Assumption.
